Four members of the UK-Latvia All-Party Parliamentary Group will visit Latvia from 23 to 26 September as guests of their Latvian colleagues in the Saeima.
The Group will visit the Saeima, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Latvian Minister of Economy and two business operations - Madara Cosmetics and Greenworld Fuels.
The UK-Latvia All-Party Parliamentary Group was established in 2010 to strengthen relations between Latvia and the UK. Christopher Pincher MP is Chairman of the Group and will lead the delegation to Latvia.
On Monday, 24 September, the British Members of Parliament will meet colleagues from the Saeima Group for Interparliamentary Relations with the UK. A separate meeting is scheduled with Deputy Speaker of the Saeima, Mrs Inese Libina-Egnere and with the Chairman of the Saeima Economic, Agricultural, Environmental and Regional Policy Committee, Mr Vjaceslavs Dombrovskis. Later in the day MPs will visit the successful Latvian manufacturer of organic skin care product “Madara Cosmetics” exporting its produce to UK as well.
On Tuesday, 25 September, the UK MPs will meet the Latvian Minister of Economy, Mr Daniels Pavluts, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Viktors Makarovs and will visit “Greenworld Fuels” - a British based renewable energy company working in the waste to energy sector. In the evening, the UK MPs will participate in a dinner hosted by the British Chamber of Commerce and will speak about the development of economic ties between the UK and Latvia.
