The Great Synagogue of Ludza in Latvia's east is a unique Jewish heritage site. The wooden building is at least 200 years old and is to be unveiled following a restoration lasting over a year, reported Latvian Radio Thursday.
The European Railroad Lines, Ltd, company, which is handling the first stage of the Rail Baltica project in Latvia, has just announced an international sketch design competition, “An idea for the construction of the Rail Baltica railway bridge and complex development of the central multimodal public transport hub in Rīga.” This is part of the high-priority Rail Baltica project, which is part of the European transport network.
On Monday, June 6, seven proposed designs for the future Latvian Museum of Contemporary Art were presented by international architectural firms in partnership with Latvian architects. The museum will be housed in a former railway building as part of the strategic New Hanza City (NHC) – a commercial and residential development alongside Rīga’s historical Art Nouveau district. It is scheduled to open its doors to the public on November 18, 2021.
