Latvia retained 19th place in the world in the annual Doing Business survey from the World Bank, released October 31, reports.

In 2019 Latvia occupies the same position as in 2018, though it remains behind Baltic neighbors Estonia (16th place) and Lithuania (14th place). However, Latvia is placed higher than Canada, Ireland, Poland, France, Spain and even Germany. Latvia performed particularly well in getting access to credit and paying taxes but poorly on the issue of resolving insolvency.
