"Infogram", a web-based data visualisation startup and founding member of TechHub Riga announced they have raised 1.34 million euros from Europe's biggest IT investors: London's Connect Ventures and Berlin's Point Nine Capital.
The announcement was made on the stage of Latvia's annual innovation conference TechChill Baltics. It is of great value for the startup businesses Latvia, breaking all previous investment records in startups. Not only that, it is also one of the biggest amounts ever raised in all of the Baltic states.
"Infogram" allows non-programmers to easily create infographics and currently hosts 8 million monthly unique visitors. With infographics becoming not only more popular, but also a necessity for most businesses that deal with online communication or news, "Infogram" is looking to increase its user base and increase revenue by adding more opportunities to the regular consumer.
"There's a lot of tech and design talent in Latvia, I bet there's some next incredibly successful company being started in some garage or apartment in Rīga right now. What I'd love to see is more confidence from entrepreneurs that you can create and redefine markets and not just follow them,” founder Uldis Leiterts said in an interview.
