The annual Rīga City Festival, this year marking the 814th anniversary of the City of Rīga and the 815th anniversary of the Rīga Port, was attended by more than 300,000 people during the weekend. The Rīga City Council informs that this is a record high number.

Over 200,000 people attended festival events on Saturday, including concerts at the Daugava Embankment and a fireworks display.

On Sunday the celebration continued with a folk festival at the Spīķeri Quarter, rock'n'roll concert on the 11th November Embankment, Liivs Day at Vermane Garden Park, street circus performances, activities in the renewed Ziedoņdārzs and Grīziņkalns parks, as well as various sports activities and events for children.

Altogether, residents and guests of Rīga had the opportunity to participate in more than 80 different events in the Old Town and neighborhoods of the city.
